DiabetiCare
International Foundation - DIF is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation in Nigeria which was
founded in May 2010 and it exists for the purpose of Diabetes Advocacy: creating awareness on
Diabetes Mellitus in Nigeria and Africa; Empowering people who are affected by Diabetes to cope and
effectively manage their condition. DIF also focuses on developing prevention
measures to aid combat and eradicate diabetes from Nigeria and Africa.
VISION
To build an African Society where all persons living with Diabetes can discuss freely and proudly about their condition and also educate other persons about Diabetes.
MISSION
To increase awareness
creation on preventive and cost effective management of Diabetes in Nigeria.
Through providing a centralized location for Nigerians living with or affected
by diabetes, we would strive to provide a forum for unity and support through
information and experience sharing, about the disease and its management.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
CORE VALUES
- To provide an organisation for the benefit of and service to people with diabetes and others interested in diabetes focusing on the less privileged in the society
- To promote information and education on preventive and management measures for the PWDs and the general populace
- To aid with the promotion among physicians and other healthcare providers of the free exchange of knowledge with respect to Diabetes and to improve the standards of treatment
- To aid with the dissenmination of reliable information about the importance of early diagnosis of the condition and the need for medical supervision and control
CORE VALUES
Equity: The foundation will strive
to ensure that the current gap in the knowledge of Diabetes across all socio-economic
strata is bridged.
Accountability: The foundation will hold itself and its members accountable to the highest level of ethical behaviour and responsibility for its actions whilst maintaining integrity in its performance.
